I have no idea how this bank is a checking account bank, but as the managers of my Health Savings Account I get the impression they are a Bernie Madoff operation...can't enroll online to see my account and their online support doesn't offer any support whatsoever...15 minutes on the phone being transferred from one department to another just to end up at a voice mail system in the middle of the day. So, no one I CAN get ahold of can help and the only one(s) that CAN help are somehow not available in the middle of the day? Wasn't that Bernie Madoff's M.O.?

  • I have been dealing with Mike M over there for the last 5 years or so. As a business man myself, I take great pride in the customer and the service that is paid to that customer. Mike does an over the top job on taking care of my clients, before during and after he has them insured. I can say without a doubt, Mike is one of the very best in all aspects of this profession. He cares more about the people and their needs, more than he does about anything else. I will recommend Mike and his company to any and all who need outstanding service and affordable pricing. You need insurance, but you WANT that great service too. Give Mike a call today!

I am not happy with the service I received at Avidia Bank. I had a mortgage and a home equity through Avidia. I chose to refinance the mortgage through another bank but wanted to keep my Avidia home equity open because the rate was lower. In order to do this, you need the bank with the home equity to do something called a subordination. I called Avidia and spoke to them about possibly using them for a refinance as well as speaking to them about the specifics of subordination. I was told it was $200 to do a subordination, nothing more. I went ahead with the refinance with the other bank. When the subordination was sent to Avidia, they came back to my new bank and told them they were raising my rate by 1/2 percent. Why? I spoke to the manager at Avidia and basically the answer is because they can. I suggested it was retribution for moving my mortgage to another bank. No, I was assured, they do this with every subordination. My credit rating hadn't changed and my equity position was better than when I opened it. When you do a subordination, you are at the mercy of the bank holding your line of credit. They can completely hold up the process or change your terms. Everyone in the industry I have spoken to about this has said they have never heard of a bank doing this though. I tried reasoning with the manager to no avail.
